  6.         4.0 Sorting and Editing Entries

  12.         Entries may be  placed  in lists for  viewing,  editing,  and/or
  13.         printing by sorting  on any combination of the nine entry items.
  14.         The entry number range may also be specified. The maximum number
  15.         of entries in a list is 960.

  19.         4.2 Sort Entries
  20.         ----------------

  22.         To sort and place entries in a list, select  <1>  from the Sort/
  23.         Edit Entry  Activity Menu.  The entry  item  ranges and  strings
  24.         last specified are displayed.  The number  of entries  currently
  25.         in the list is displayed along  with the list amount total which
  26.         is the summation of all list entry credits and debits.

  28.         During  sorting,  entries  are added to  the list when  all nine
  29.         entry items  fall within  the displayed  item  ranges  and match
  30.         the displayed strings.  If no value is  specified  for an  item,
  31.         then the  corresponding  entry  item is  considered a  match and
  32.         does not eliminate the entry from being included in the list. If
  33.         no entry item ranges or strings  are specified, then all entries
  34.         within the displayed entry range are added to the list.  Entires
  35.         appear only once in any lising.

  37.         Entry items Check, Date, Group 1, Group 2, and  Comment  may  be
  38.         sorted on any beginning portion of the string.  Blank spaces and
  39.         upper/lower case characters are significant. All item ranges are
  40.         inclusive. To sort out entries with zero amounts, specify amount
  41.         range 0.00 to 0.01.

  75.         The transaction item range functions as follows:

  77.            1.  If Last - First = 4 then only entries that have the First
  78.                and Last transaction type are matching.

  80.                Ex.  If the transaction range is 1 and 5 then only credit
  81.                     refund entries are matching.

  83.            2.  If Last - First < 8 then only entries that have the First
  84.                through the Last transaction types are matching.

  87.                     entries are matching.

  90.                through Last - 8  and  First + 8 through Last transaction

  95.                     the same as not specifing a range, all  entries  are

  107.                               strings.  The  entry  range is  set to the

  204.         4.4 Auto Edit Entries in List

  207.         To automatically edit every entry  in the  current list,  select
  208.         <3> from the Sort/Edit Entry Activity Menu. One or more items of
  209.         every list  entry may be  changed  at the  same time.  The  list
  210.         amount total is updated as required.

  213.         Auto Edit Entries in List options:
  214.  
  215.         <1>  Edit             Select to  specify  which items  are to be
  216.                               changed in every entry in the list.

  218.         <2>  Auto Edit List   Select  to  automatically  edit  specified
  219.                               entry  items.  If no items are  specified,
  220.                               then selecting  Auto Edit List  leaves all
  221.                               entries unchanged.  If the  amount item is
  222.                               zero, no  changes  are made  to the  entry
  223.                               amounts.

  225.         <3>  Edit Outstanding Select  to  change  all outstanding credit
  226.                               and debit  transaction  entries to cleared
  227.                               credit and debit entries.  All other entry

  273.         To view and printout  entries in the  current list,  select  <4>
  274.         from the Sort/Edit Entry Activity Menu.  The first 18 entries in
  275.         the list are displayed. Entries may be deleted to ready list for
  276.         printing or automatic editing.

  281.         <1>  Page             Select to  display  the next 18 entries in
  282.                               the list.

  340.         Menu.  The last entry  posted is  displayed.   If the  displayed
  341.         entry is in the current list, the list  number  corresponding to
  342.         the entry is  also displayed.  The list  amount total is updated

  369.         select <6> from the  Sort/Edit Entry Activity Menu.  The  backup
  370.         file must be  specified and accessible  by the operating system.
